Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) can help alleviate musculoskeletal pain. Using this non-invasive therapy, our practice can stimulate an animal’s soft-tissue or bone injury and promote healing, while decreasing the chance that disease will reoccur. ESWT uses the same technology that physicians use on human patients; the affected area is targeted with a wand that delivers pressurized wave pulses. These pulses create just enough force on the area to permeate soft tissue and fluid build-up and stimulate numerous metabolic processes.

What ailments can extracorporeal shockwave therapy help?

  • Back pain.
  • Bone cysts.
  • Bone Fractures.
  • Circulatory problems.
  • Degenerative joint disease.
  • Lameness.
  • Navicular disease.
  • Ligament injuries.
  • Tendonitis.
  • Tumors.
  • Wounds which refuse to heal.

If you have questions about extracorporeal shockwave therapy or would like to see if your animal could benefit from this treatment, please contact us.
